Freelander 2 07> with Alpine Amp Upgrade
 (Reference: ATM1224B)

1. Locate the vehicle amplifier, which should be situated behind the rear nearside quarter panel but please see application list for specific vehicle location.

2. Hold the amplifier, so that the locking tabs on all three white connectors are facing upwards.

3. Disconnect the left hand 16 way connector of the amplifier. Carefully insert the mating 16 way green connector of the VA6610 harness into this; next insert the remaining 16 way green connector of the VA6610 into the left hand connector position of the vehicle amplifier.

4. Disconnect the right hand 2 way connector of the amplifier. Insert the spade terminals from the mute interface loom into the connector from the vehicle loom. On the VA6610 the violet wire should be connected to the 12V positive feed terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal of the vehicles 2 way connector (TEST FIRST). Insert the remaining two insulated push on terminals of the VA6610 onto the two corresponding terminals of the vehicle amplifier.
Care must be taken so as not to cross the connections, as damage will occur.

5. Connect the extension cable (VA6700) supplied to the mute interface and route to the front of the vehicle to where the handsfree ECU is to be installed and connect.

6. Test the mute by making a call from the kit.

7. When a call is in progress, all speakers should disconnect from the radio and the telephone audio should come through both the front speakers.
