(Reference: DYN11405)
Contains one 32" x 54" piece of TacMat for roofs, floors, behind trim panels, inside speaker enclosures and inside door pillars.
Application: Use on roofs, floors, behind trim panels, inside speaker enclosures and inside door pillars to insulate against heat and to maximize sound absorption. For high heat areas, use Extremeliner over Dynamat instead of TacMat.
Description:
TacMat is a pink, vibration damping, energy and impact absorbing, semi-closed cell foam. TacMat's characteristics include low rebound, delayed recovery from deflection, impact absorption and good flammability properties. Ideal for weight- sensitive applications, TacMat provides high system loss factors with minimum added weight (1.75 lbs. per 12 sq. ft. sheet). TacMat has a higher R value at the same thickness than fiberglass insulation.
Acoustic Properties:
TacMat provides high acoustic absorption and excellent thermal insulation for a variety of automotive uses--from getting the most out of a mobile audio system to reducing the heat transmitted through the firewall. TacMat is the most effective lightweight thermal foam available. Dynamic Control recommends using TacMat with a layer of Dynamat for the ultimate in sound damping and absorption.
Applications:
TacMat is used in business and commercial aircraft for weight-efficient damping and to reduce radiated noise from lightweight interior structures. TacMat can be applied to fuselage skin, bulkheads, floor panels, trim panels and other interior constructions. TacMat is ideally suited for lightweight control of fuselage skin turbulent boundary layer excitation. Similar extensional damping applications for TacMat exist in yachts and recreational and construction vehicles.
In vehicles, TacMat works under carpeting, behind interior panels, and inside speaker enclosures to eliminate resonance and vibrations in the enclosure. It can also be used in other applications requiring a significant reduction in heat and wave dissipations.
Installation:
TacMat comes in twelve-foot square pieces measuring 32" x 54". Use scissors or a knife to cut TacMat to the desired size and shape before installation. Next, remove dust, grease, moisture, and other foreign matter from the application surface. When used under carpeting, no spray adhesive is needed. For other locations, spray adhesive on the application surface and on the back of the TacMat and press firmly into place.
